Blue-GIFT 1st call

The Blue-GIFT (Blue Growth and Innovation Fast Tracked) project, a €2.5 million project funded by Interreg Atlantic Area, is a  coordinated ocean energy technology demonstration programme encouraging longer-term demonstration and technology de-risking across the Atlantic Area regions.

The project consortium, which includes four test sites in the Atlantic Area region (specifically in Scotland, the West of Ireland, Portugal, Northern Spain, Western France, Canary Islands), is happy to announce the 1st Call for Applications for access to test sites to perform tests and validation of marine renewable energy technologies. The applications received will be checked for eligibility, evaluated by a User Selection Board and, if successful, granted aid to access the test site of the users’ choice by means of a Support Package Voucher.it is pleased to announce the 1st call for applications.

Which test centres can you apply to?

A series of test site access vouchers will be offered to successful applicants to support testing of devices and subsystems at the following test centres:

  • BiMEP (wave and floating wind) in the Basque Country, Spain;
  • PLOCAN (wave and floating wind) in Gran Canaria, Spain;
  • SEENEOH (hydrokinetic and tidal) in Bordeaux, France;
  • WavEC (wave and floating wind test centre) in Aguçadoura, Portugal.
