Feria Internacional del Mar

The International Sea Fair, FIMAR 2020, will be held from May 15 to 17 in the Plaza de Santa Catalina and the surroundings of the Santa Catalina Pier, where it will be its tenth edition.  The fair, which has been consolidated over the last few years as an unavoidable stop for professionals in the nautical and marine-maritime sector, is jointly promoted by the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the Port Authority of Las Palmas. The organization of the same is responsible for the City of Mar Department of the City of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Canary Islands Fair Institution, Infecar.

This fair has a double objective:

  • Foster sea culture
  • Promote the blue economy

From this perspective, FIMAR has a local vocation, to reach the people of the city-island, in general, to strengthen everything that has to do with the element that defines us as an island / archipelago and that is the sea.  On the other hand, FIMAR has a global vocation, beyond our geographical limits, because it is about promoting, both inside and outside, our economy linked to the marine-maritime world, that is, the blue economy that is an important part of our present and future wealth.
