Implementing the Atlantic Action Plan – 3rd UK National Workshop on Funding and Project Development

Unfortunately, due to recent events surrounding the EU referendum, the 3rd National Event on Implementing the Atlantic Action plan on the 13th July in London will be postponed until later in the year when we hope to have a clearer picture on the UK’s ongoing relationship with the EU. Further information will follow in due course.

3rd UK National Workshop on Funding and Project Development
Promoters:
Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE), the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME), the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Support Team for the Atlantic Action Plan
Place:
Westminster Conference Centre, 1 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0ET
Date:
13/07/2016
Summary:
The Atlantic Action Plan, put in place to implement the Atlantic Strategy, has been widely promoted in the UK in order to draw attention to stakeholders of both the opportunities it presents in the UK and also for collaboration with other EU Atlantic Member States (France, Ireland, Portugal and Spain). Blue growth exhibits vast potential in the UK both in creating jobs and contributing to economic development. The Action Plan is about both supporting traditional sectors such as fisheries and tourism, but also new, emerging sectors such as marine renewables. Following on from the National Event that was held in Liverpool in December 2015, and a series of roadshows that are being organised by the Support Team for the Atlantic Action Plan, a 3rd National Event is being planned to help stakeholders develop project ideas. The event, taking place on the 13th July, at the Victoria Conference Centre, located at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills in London, will provide stakeholders with an opportunity to meet other stakeholders with an interest in developing projects of relevance to the Atlantic Area. During the morning session, stakeholders will get a chance to hear about developments in the Atlantic Action Plan, an update on funding opportunities and an update on blue growth in the UK. The afternoon session will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to develop project ideas. Parallel workshops will be organised and we are currently seeking expressions of interest from stakeholders wishing to organise/contribute to workshop sessions. The timing of the event is in line with the programme calls, including the Atlantic Area Programme. Networking opportunities will be provided during the event to enable new partnerships to be formed and existing partnerships to be strengthened. Funding contact points will also be present to meet with interested stakeholders. We look forward to meeting you on the 13th July in London. Please note that the workshop is limited to 100 participants, so please register early at the link below to guarantee you place.
