  Atlantic Action Plan

Preparations for the 4th Annual Atlantic Stakeholder Platform Conference that will focus on Priority 4 “Create a Socially Inclusive and Sustainable Model of Regional Development” of the Atlantic Action Plan are well underway.

The ASPC 2017 will include a dedicated ceremony for the presentation of the 2017 Atlantic Project Awards, aiming to highlight some of the most successful projects stimulating the blue economy in the Atlantic Ocean area today. The programme of the conference can be found here and key speakers include:

  • Councilor Ms. Eva Bolander, Lord Provost of the City of Glasgow
  • Mr. Fergus Ewing, Cabinet Secretary for the Rural Economy and Connectivity
  • Mr. Karmenu Vella, Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, European Commission
  • Mr. Jerry Lundy, Member of the Committee of the Regions
  • Mr. Bernhard Friess, Director, Maritime Policy and Blue Economy, Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, European Commission

Eight workshops will give you the opportunity to learn, share and interact with a selection of best practices originating from the four corners of the Atlantic area. With fascinating and diverse projects on the menu, these workshops will take participants on a true Atlantic cruise, from coastal communities to the abysses! Make sure to visit our event page and download the interactive workshop posters.

This year, matchmaking activities are made easier with the utilisation of the PitchandMatch tool allowing participants to arrange their meetings at designated meeting locations and times well in advance of the event and receiving their confirmation emails on their PC’s or smartphones. All participants receive the login details of their personalised matchmaking account within one (1) day of registering for the conference.

To complete the picture, a dedicated team will bridge the event’s offline and online dimensions, interacting during the whole day via Twitter with participants, speakers and project holders, as well as every connected Atlantic Stakeholder. Make sure to follow @EU_atlantic and tweet with the hashtag #ASPC2017. The best tweets will directly feed into the event discussions
